  1. I was always under the assumption the term pecker pole referred to skinny Douglas fir trees that are is just barely harvestable…but, I do understand your wonderful use of the pun, anyway. I haven’t heard the “knock, Knock, Knock” of the Pileated Woodpecker in years and years.
